I’ll be honest.  There is a part of Christmas in American culture that just flat out drives me crazy.  While I know, from the perspective of a retailer, Christmas is a success when we have piggy-backed on the belief system of mainstream America and driven sales through the roof.  Yep.  We start in October now.

Then there’s is the actual holiday.  Several days getting reacquainted with “cousin Eddie”, fudge overload, and gifts upon gifts upon gifts ad nauseum. That’s Christmas.

But, then it happens.  I see Christmas through my child’s eyes as he discovers the wonderment for the first time.   I am convicted.  I don’t believe so easily anymore.  I’ve been jaded one too many times in this broken world.

I start to wonder what this is all about, anyway.  In all my soul searching, all roads still lead to one person alone who fits the prophetic fulfillment of all times and its dozens of ancient predictions.  Lee Strobel calls it a “fingerprint”.   Remove faith, and add logic, I still get to the real Jesus at Christmas.  Mathematically, it is the only answer that adds up.
